I grew up as the son of Ghanaian immigrants with one clear message: lawyer, doctor, or engineer. I chose none of the above. What I chose instead took longer to find.
I sat across from a client at their kitchen table, guiding them through a mountain of paperwork as a loan signing agent. We talked about life, life goals, and the roads that brought us to that moment. Again and again, I heard the same thing: the most successful people in real estate weren’t just experts—they were trusted friends and relentless problem-solvers. That’s when it clicked. I needed to build something of my own, to create opportunities for myself and others, and to do it on my terms.
My journey started far from the world of real estate. I was born in Salem, Oregon, the son of Ghanaian immigrants who taught me the value of hard work and community. Growing up, the expectation was clear: lawyer, doctor, or engineer. But I was drawn to finance, inspired by movies like The Pursuit of Happiness, my father’s career, and my own nature. I studied finance in college, imagining a future as a stockbroker, fast cars and all.
After graduation, I landed my first job selling life insurance and mutual funds. I quickly learned that success in finance wasn’t just about numbers—it was about sales, relationships, and having hard conversations about money.
I was inspired by the life of the entrepreneur, so I made a promise to myself:
By March 2020, I started my own loan signing business when COVID hit, and business exploded. I became one of the top-performing loan signing agents in the state, sitting down with over 4,500 households in three years. I learned that relationships were everything, and that the biggest deals often started with a simple act of friendship.
But the rollercoaster didn’t stop. When interest rates soared, demand waned. I realized my goals had been too small; I needed to dream bigger. I sold the business and joined a property management company, learned the ropes, and earned my real estate license. Cold calls, open houses, endless hustle—until I made the leap to full-time real estate.
Through it all, my goals evolved. At first, I just wanted to replace my income and support my family. But as I grew, I set my sights higher: financial independence, time freedom, and the ability to give back to my family community.
Outside of work, I find peace in physical challenges. The gym is my sanctuary, where I push myself to be a little better every day. You will find me hiking, snowboarding, golf—anything competitive or outdoors in the few days I am not working in the business. Those moments of struggle and triumph remind me that growth comes from discomfort and inspires me to keep stepping outside my comfort zone.
Looking back, I see a journey defined by ambition and a relentless pursuit of growth. My story is still being written, but one thing is for certain: I’m all in, and I’m not turning back.
What sets me apart from other REALTORS® is what I call “voracious curiosity.” I’ll dig until I have every answer we need, no matter how complex the deal or how experienced the other side is. My clients often tell me they’re surprised by my persistence; I don’t give up after one or two tries—I’ll keep pushing until I find a solution.
This isn’t just a job for me; it’s my life’s mission. I’ve always had to do more with less, building my business from scratch without big budgets. My hunger and drive are unmatched because nothing has ever been handed to me. I’ll fight for every deal, work harder than anyone, and never settle for “good enough.” My reputation and my clients’ outcomes mean everything to me.
Sincerely,

Selali Kalevor
